Our client, a leading banks in Ireland, is looking for a highly motivated and experienced Data Architect (SAS Platform & Cloud Migration) to work in Dublin, Ireland.

We are seeking a hands-on Data Architect with strong SAS expertise to lead the transformation of the analytics platform from on-prem SAS Grid to a governed SAS Viya environment on AWS.

What you are expected to have:

Must-Have

• Strong experience as a Data Architect / SAS Architect
• Proven delivery of SAS Grid → SAS Viya migrations
• Hands-on expertise with:
  • SAS programming (Base SAS, Macros, SQL)
  • SAS Grid architecture and usage patterns
  • SAS Viya (CAS, cloud-native concepts)
• Experience integrating SAS with:
  • Teradata EDW
  • Cloudera Data Lake (AWS)
  • Enterprise ETL tools (Informatica)

Architecture & Engineering

• Experience designing hybrid (on-prem + cloud) data architectures
• Strong understanding of:
  • Data integration patterns
  • Performance optimisation
  • Data flow design across platforms
• Ability to operate hands-on (30–50%)

Desirable

• AWS architecture experience
• Financial Services / Banking domain experience
• Experience with regulatory or controlled data environments

Integration & Tooling

• • ETL: Informatica
  • Orchestration: Control-M / Airflow (or similar)
  • Big Data: Spark, Kafka, CDP ecosystem

What you will do:

SAS Platform Architecture

• Define and design the target-state SAS Viya architecture on AWS
• Transition from high-autonomy SAS Grid to a governed, scalable platform
• Ensure alignment with enterprise cloud, data, and security standards

Migration Delivery (SAS Grid → SAS Viya)

• Lead end-to-end migration of SAS workloads, including:
  • SAS code (Base SAS, macros, SQL)
  • SAS DI / ETL pipelines and workflows
  • Scheduling and orchestration dependencies
• Define migration patterns (lift-and-shift, re-platform, re-engineer)
• Actively hands-on in migration execution, troubleshooting, and optimisation

Data Integration Across Enterprise Platforms

• Design integration with:
  • ODS (operational ingestion/staging)
  • EDL (Cloudera on AWS) for large-scale and unstructured data
  • EDW (Teradata) for structured analytics
• Enable bi-directional data flows:
  • Data ingestion into SAS from enterprise platforms
  • Write-back of SAS outputs (analytics, models, datasets)
• Optimise push-down processing / in-database execution

Hands-on Engineering

• Contribute directly to:
  • SAS code conversion and refactoring for Viya
  • Pipeline optimisation and performance tuning
  • Debugging and modernising legacy SAS workloads
• Work closely with engineering teams through build, test, and release cycles

Governance & Controls

• Implement SAS Viya governance model, including:
  • Access control and security
  • Data lineage, auditing, and controls
• Move from uncontrolled Grid usage to managed, enterprise-grade operating model

Stakeholder & Delivery

• Collaborate with:
  • Business analytics users
  • Data engineering teams (ODS / EDL / EDW)
  • Enterprise architecture and cloud teams
• Support Agile delivery, estimation, and technical risk management

You are good to apply if you are:

• Irish or EU or British Citizen, or holding a Stamp 4 or Stamp 1G permit.
